You will have realised by now that choosing a Vi-Spring bed is about creating the one bed that suits you perfectly. From bed sizes to box spring heights and drawers to legs, we aim to give you as many ways to personalise your bed as we possibly can. And of course, we can accommodate the most individual of special requests.
Bed sizes
When it comes to beds, big is beautiful. We recommend that you choose a bed as generously proportioned as your bedroom will comfortably allow. Our single beds, naturally, make wonderful places for children to sleep. And if you have a special bed size in mind, our craftsmen will be happy to build it for you.

Zip & Link mattresses
Vi-Spring Zip & Link beds allow you to combine two single sprung-edge box springs into one generously wide king size bed, with the flexibility to separate them easily if you wish. The box spring bases are linked head and foot and the mattresses zipped together along their full length.
Box Spring heights
Choose from any of three different box spring heights, depending on your aesthetic choices and your preferences about ease of access to your bed.
The shallow edge sprung box spring 6.7" shown on tapered legs.
The medium depth sprung 9.8" box spring.
The full depth sprung 12.2" box spring able to accommodate Vi-Spring drawer systems.
Legs & Castors
Choose from smooth-running castors, beech legs or traditional bun feet. We can team polished beech legs with a shallow box spring and they are available in a variety of heights to suit your preference.

Vi-Spring drawer systems
Vi-Spring drawer systems add valuable storage space in 12.2" box springs with smooth-running, self-closing, meticulously upholstered drawers built to cabinet standards. Double beds can have up to four side drawers, single beds, two handy side drawers.
The shorter springs in drawer box springs make them slightly firmer.

Drawers can only be fitted on the deep 12.2" box springs.
Other Options
Box Spring Skirts
Skirts provide a clean tailored finish to the box spring. They are fitted as standard on the Viceroy range, and are offered as an option on the Sovereign range, when they are subject to a supplementary charge. (Skirts cannot be fitted to drawer box springs).
The Box Spring Mantle
The mantle is an elegant way of concealing the gap between the two bases. It is standard on all Super King Sovereign box springs, including Zip & Link beds, and is offered as an option (subject to a supplementary charge) on other sizes of Sovereign box springs.
Quilted Mattress Protector
We recommend our mattress protector to keep your precious mattress in perfect condition. Made from softly quilted satin with a warm pure wool filling, it’s available in a full range of sizes to fit beds right up to 72” x 84”.
The Bedstead Mattress Pad
Our mattress pad helps to prevent abrasion between a Vi-Spring bedstead mattress and the slats of a continental-type bedstead, while prolonging the life of the mattress itself.
Vi-Spring Pillows
We offer two luxuriously supportive pillows: White Goosefeather & Down and sumptuous Pure Duck Down - perfect partners for a Vi-Spring mattress.
Luxury Mattress Toppers
A Vi-Spring Mattress Topper provides an extra layer of comfort to make your bed feel even more luxurious (and covers the zips on Zip & Link beds). The Topper also provides valuable protection for your precious Vi-Spring mattress and unlike the mattress itself, it can be aired outside. There are two different models of toppers:
1. The Topper Deluxe contains 4.6 ozs of cotton, 3.3 ozs of horsehair and 2.0 ozs of white fibre per square foot.
2. The Topper C1000: contains 2.3 ozs of cotton and 1.0 oz of white fibre per square foot. Any mattress ticking is available on either model.
Special Requests
Making beds entirely by hand means we can accommodate all sorts of individual requests.
We have made mattresses with cut-out corners for antique bedstead and four-posters, extra-long and extra-wide beds and reinforced beds in four sections (to negotiate a tight spiral staircase). We've even designed a bed in the shape of a fish to fit in the bow of a yacht.
