British, luxury bed maker, Vispring, celebrates its new collaboration with esteemed French designer, Terence Mesguich Jacquemin, by introducing two new headboards at IMM Cologne (13-19 January 2014).
The Perseus and Talita headboards are a new direction for the brand, and are heavily influenced by strong, architectural designs finished with soft and intricate detailing that embody Vispring’s new ‘art of sleeping, art of living’ philosophy.
In Perseus, Terence presents a striking headboard that combines soft, delicate fabric with strong, lustrous wood; a first for Vispring. The multi-tonal graining of the Macassar Ebony side panels is highly decorative and adds a masculine twist to the femininity of the curved headboard. The launch model at IMM was covered in the stunning Martora Legno di Rosa fabric by Rubelli; the pale but indulgent velvet contrasts beautifully with the dark and distinctive character of the Macassar wood to create a prominent centrepiece to the room.
The elegantly sculptured Talita hints at a regal design scheme, with the strong vertical side panels cocooning the sleeper from the outside world. The sheen of the Larsen’s Mercer in Chestnut satin fabric, used on the launch model, creates a feminine and serene ambience, which is finished with delicate piping around the edges of the headboard. Both headboard are finished with Vispring’s, new embroidered crest.
As with all Vispring headboards, customers can individualise to their taste; choosing the fabric and scale of the headboard.
Magali Castillo, global marketing director, Vispring, says: “In Perseus and Talita, Terence has introduced a level of detail and craftsmanship that is exceptional. The use of soothing fabrics and textures perfectly balances his dramatic yet sophisticated designs to create two unique headboards. We look forward to working with Terence on a third design, which we will launch at Salone del Mobile in Milan this April, along with a restyled leg collection.”
Terence started working with Vispring in 2013. His brief was to refine Vispring’s product range as part of the company’s new marketing strategy. He comments: “I fell in love with Vispring immediately; particularly its commitment to bespoke craftsmanship and the use of natural materials.”
Utilising his wealth of experience gained in the luxury interiors industry by working with brands including Promemoria, JNL-VANHAMME, Philippe Hurel, Obumex, LA Cornue, Amanda & Fillet and Nantavia, Terence founded TMJ Design Studio in early 2012. He now advises interiors companies on collection launches, bespoke furniture pieces and interior design projects.
