Keep your bed warm and cosy this winter

While many of us are familiar with trying to get to sleep and being too warm, as the temperature drops for winter, according to one survey around 49% of the population suffer sleepless nights due to the cold.

Temperatures tend to be at their lowest during the early hours of the morning, so this leads to many people suffering from disrupted sleep as sometimes its too cold and uncomfortable.

TOP TIPS TO KEEP YOU WARM SO YOU GET A GREAT NIGHT’S SLEEP

  1. Having cold feet can often be the reason to wake you during the night, so why not wear a pair of sleep socks. Make sure they’re breathable and not too thick, we recommend bamboo socks. The extra layer under your duvet can help to improve circulation which can also help you fall asleep faster.
  2. Have a warm bath just before you go to bed. If you’re very chilly then a warm bath will warm you up and it also has the added bonus of making you sleepy.

  4. Doing regular exercise and some light stretches before bed will get your circulation going, helping the body to keep warm. It is also a great chance to wind down after a busy day.

 

KEEPING YOUR BEDROOM WARM IN WINTER

  3. Use a duvet that has a high tog rating. Feather and down duvets can be best to keep you nice and warm and are most popular in the coldest climates, for good reason. They’re very well insulated whilst still being breathable.

Having a sagging bed can push you closer together which while it may at first feel cosy, can lead to feeling very clammy during the night.
